October 21, 2011 - 97 Boys await fate in OYSL
VAUGHN, ONTARIO - The 97 Boys are still waiting to see if they will play in the OYSL next summer. The East Division featured a tight race all summer long with only a few points separating those at the top and those in the regulation zone. It looked like we were relegated at the end, but one of the opponents played an ineligible player and lost points. There is now some dispute about how many points they will lose, and how many we might gain, as a result, which affects the final standings. We can only hope that the league applies the rules are we understand them. Now everyone will say that their team worked hard and deserve to stay in the league next summer, but we most certainly feel that way about our 97s. Let's hope this kick bends in our favour.
October 14, 2011 - Dontaye Whittaker returns from Spain a true champ
OTTAWA, ONTARIO - In case you missed it, Martin Cleary of the Ottawa Citizen wrote a really nice piece about two local players who joined Team Canada for the Danone Nations Cup world youth (ages 10-12) soccer championship in Spain this month. Our very own Dontaye Whittaker was part of the 14-member squad that helped Canada finish an eye-popping sixth in the 40-country global championship. This was our best finish ever. Congrats Dontaye - maybe our other national teams can use a few pointers. Click here to see the nice story written by Martin Clearly.

The referee course will be held over two Saturdays at the Franco Cite French High School, starting on Saturday November 5th. For more information and to register, please contact jclavelo@soccer.on.ca or call 613-233-6561.
