OTTAWA, ONTARIO - We mussed and fussed, then deliberated some more, trying to figure out how best to wish everyone the very best for a safe and happy holiday season... It seems our U11 Girls were one step ahead of us. They sent us this photo with their best wishes for all members. Well said and well done girls!
By the way, where can we get those hats? And do they come in blue, royal blue?
December 17, 2010 - AGM set for January 30
OTTAWA, ONTARIO - The 2010 Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the Club is set for January 30, 2011 at the Cyrville Community Centre (located at 4355 Halmont Drive in Gloucester, not far from the Gloucester Centre). This is your opportunity to provide feedback to the Club, and to help shape our future. All members in good standing are invited, so do plan to attend. The meeting begins at 6:30 pm.
December 9, 2010 - Young footballers to juggle for Snowsuit Fund this Saturday
OTTAWA, ONTARIO - Capital United soccer players will be showing off their juggling skills this Saturday December 11 at the Gloucester Centre foodcourt and upstairs in the Gloucester Centre Chiropractic office to support the Snowsuit Fund. The event runs from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. There will be refreshments, live music, decorating a holiday tree and a visit from the big guy, Santa. Kindly bring a new or near-new snowsuit, or a donation for the Snowsuit Fund.
December 8, 2010 - Alex Mateas heading to Outback Bowl
TAMPA, FLORIDA - Former Capital United player Alex Mateas, who is now a member of the Penn State Nittany Lions Football Team, is heading to Florida on New Years Day. He and his team mates in blue in white will take on the Florida Gators in the Outback Bowl, you know that other 'football' sport. Fans are frowning a bit about the struggles of their football team this season (7-5 record). But come now - Florida sunshine in January, a bowl game in front of thousands of screaming fans, legendary coach Joe Paterno watching every move from the sidelines - life is truly harsh.
December 6, 2010 - Capital United Elves help light up Santa's Parade of Lights
ORLEANS, ONTARIO - Capital United volunteers served as the Toy Collection Crew at the 2010 Santa Parade of Lights. These ambassadors of goodwill helped Santa collect thousands of toys and gifts for families and children in need, demonstrating their true holiday spirit and commitment to their community. The organizing committee of the Mini World Cup Tournament Series and FC Capital United wish to thank the following members for making this such a huge success: Jakob Spink, Federico Leal, Alex Kulic, James Thomas, Blair Plummer, Aidan Caulfield, Liam Scullion, Andrew Spink, Debborah Evraire, Traian Mateas, Ken Evraire Sr., Ana Maria Suarez, Bezick Evraire-Chance, Hamoudie Berjawi and Dante Biscaro.
